What is GRIHA v6?

GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) v6 is the sixth and most current version of India's national green building rating system, developed by TERI and ADaRSH. It replaces GRIHA 2019 with a significantly updated 100-point framework designed to align with India's net-zero targets.

Key changes from GRIHA 2019

GRIHA v6 introduced several important changes:

  • 100-point system replacing the older 34-criteria format
  • Net-zero pathway for buildings targeting carbon neutrality
  • Mandatory vs elective criteria — some points are compulsory to achieve any star rating
  • Operational performance weighting increased significantly

The 100-point framework

The criteria are grouped into six thematic areas:

How Harshz automates GRIHA v6

Harshz automates the entire GRIHA v6 checklist. Simply create a project, navigate to the GRIHA v6 section, and start tracking criteria. Scores are calculated automatically as you mark items complete.

Built-in calculators handle the math for water factor, tree preservation, and energy performance — the three areas where calculation errors most commonly delay certification.

The dashboard shows your current score, mandatory criterion status, and exactly how many points you need for the next star rating.
